Installing social plugins to enable easy sharing of your blog post

Installing social plugins to enable easy sharing of your blog post

Let say one day you stumble into an awesome content and find it extremely interesting.

At that time, you wanted to share it out to your friends to let them know about it.

But you look around the blog post and ended up couldn’t find even one sharing button for you to share the article.

What would you do?

Read and forget?

Yeps. The answer is most likely, people will read it and forget it if they can’t find a way to share it.

And so happen that it is your blog that happen to produce a wonderful master piece which regrettably your readers couldn’t share, I will say that is a big WASTE!

Putting on the social share icon is not difficult and it looks to me is a mandatory thing to do for every blog.

Once you make things easy for your readers to share, the chances of your post being exposed to throughout the social media is higher.

WordPress plugins for social sharing

There are plenty of social sharing plugins out there (at least 20 of them) but I personally had only tried the few below:

  • Digg Digg. I had been using this plugin for all my recent blogs. One of the reason is I can float them on the left hand side of my post which makes it extremely visible to all my readers. Apart from floating, I can also enable it at the end of the post so that after your readers finished reading the post, they can share it if they find it interesting.
  • Shareaholic. The other interesting social sharing plugin is the Shareaholic. I like this plugin simply because it is simple and the choice of icons are many. However, I had to switch over to Digg Digg at a period of time due to the reason that it does not offer Google +1 icon and at that time, I had a feeling that Google+ is the next big thing.
  • AddThis. When I started blogging on Blogger, I use the AddThis plugin. There isn’t any problem with this plugin as it is simple looking and easy to use. The reason I did not use this anymore is because after migrating to WordPress, I found that Shareaholic plugin looks way better and I decided to give it a shot without giving AddThis a second thought.

My final say

My point here is not really which plugin that you should use.

The main point here is that you should make your blog post easy for your readers to share where in this post, you will realize the plugins that I use to help me out. With this, it is easier for your post to be exposed to the social media networks.
